In the spirit of giving, Mayfield reaches out for the holidays

Giving at Mayfield_2012
Gifts await distribution under the Christmas tree at the Mayfield Clinic.

More than 170 associates, managers, and physicians of the Mayfield Clinic are celebrating our most expansive holiday project ever. Building on Mayfield’s long tradition of charitable giving, our 2012 Holiday Project brought the joy of the season to an ever-larger number of people in need within our community.We adopted 58 children for our gift-giving project:

•    25 children from The Children’s Home of Cincinnati, a private, nonprofit organization and a leading provider of education and mental health treatment for children who face significant social, behavioral, and learning challenges;

•    11 children served by FACE (For AIDS Children Everywhere), a Cincinnati-based agency dedicated to providing services to children and their families affected by HIV/AIDS; and

•   22 eighth-grade students at South Avondale School, which serves students pre-K to grade 8 in the Avondale community and is located just a few blocks from Mayfield’s corporate offices.

We also joined residents of Meadowbrook Care Center, a skilled nursing home facility, for holiday treats, songs of the season, and conversation. We collected household essentials for Living Hope Transitional Homes, a local non-profit organization that provides a loving, secure environment for women and children in transition from homelessness to stable, independent living. And we provided canned goods and other food items to help re-stock the shelves at FACE.

This year marks our 14th as a charitable supporter of FACE, our fourth in support of South Avondale Elementary, and our second in support of The Children’s Home and Meadowbrook Care Center. Since 2001 we have collected over 900 gifts and nearly $12,000 to support our holiday activities.

Mayfield physicians and associates share their time, talents and financial resources throughout the year. As one of the nation’s leading physician organizations for clinical care, education, and research of the brain and spine, we present and participate in local, national, and international educational programs for patients and physicians. We conduct annual campaigns for the United Way and ArtsWave, sponsor teams that raise money to fight numerous diseases, and incorporate recycling and conservation principles into our corporate lives.

From everyone at the Mayfield Clinic, we wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a safe, happy, and healthy new year.
